fixed my 6000 rpm problem

so i had the issue where my rx7 would barely make it over 6k rpm and it would start bouncing quickly and poping like crazy almost like its on a rev limiter but we all know thats not true! sooooooo i went out and got a new tps and replaced my leaky injectors and what do you know! FIXED THE **** OUTTA THAT ****! my car had always had that shitty bounce problem since i bought it but the 6k problem is more recent. i'm soooo happy!

buuuut .. another problem has come to fruition! now i have a check engine light! but it goes away when i hit the gas? wtf?!?! just when i thought i got this **** straight!!

I have noticed that sometimes the light will come on and go off and the ECU doesn't store the code. Hopefully, that isn't going to be true for the OP.

Depends on the error code. Some check engine light codes are intermitant and the light will go off. Most of the time the computer will store the code in memory but in one such issue I had a while back, that wasn't the case.

Might be the TPS. Did you adjust the new TPS to 1 volt after the car was completely warmed up?
