KY 86 rx7 na alt upgrade

Anyone have any experience wiring up a power bastard hi output alternator? It has ony one wire (it is a self-excitng) What can I also do about the plug(back of oem alternator) with the 2 wires that was used for idiot light and gauge (I guess) or maybe sensing was one of the wires? Is there any way to get this alt to still use my oem wires and not lose the idiot warning light and cluster voltage gauge?

Either upgrade to an FD unit, or look at one of the conversions, both are well documented, and easily found using a search.

I haven't read anything on anyone using one wire alts. It probably has been done, but there are simpler, drop in options available.

I'm stuck with the one wire from power bastard's, can't get a refund paid $300.00 for it. Thats why I've got to get it to work.

I would hook up the B+ the way it is supposed to and take the extra two wires and attach them to a heavy gauge switched ignition source.

That should actually do the trick unless I am missing something.
