First things First
What I did:
1) Saved awhole lotta money to blow away
2) stripped out all the acessories I did want ( A/C, Radio, Power Steering, etc..)
3) Performance (rebuilt ported 13b-re, standalone, coilover suspension, fuel system, etc...)
4) Interior ( 12lbs seats, functional gauges, and smaller steering wheel)
5) Exterior ( paintjob, aero kit, and Mazdaspeed wheels)
the list can go on but thats a brief overview for an *** whipping 2nd Gen. Also it really depend what you want to like do you want it show,go, or stock?

thats more then five things but i would go the same way lol, #1fcd ,#2 exhaust 3in,#3 sfac tuned, #4 720cc injectors, #5 mbc on 12psi, and you should be a 13.6 sec car if drive good and got a good motor. and one msd 6al box make it 6, runing safe and faster with these modes
step 1:
read the faq
step 2:
FULL TUNE-UP... why does noby even think of these things? our cars are getting old, fix first upgrade later.
step 3:
whatever you are thinking you want to do with your car, start researching about all mods pertaining to it. remember this is YOUR CAR.
steps 4 & 5:
more research and aproprate add-ons / removals / mods

if u are not going to pull the motor do the following:
full tune up (plugs, wires, filters)
change all fluids
check tires for wear buy new ones if needed
check and replace brakes if needed
make sure u have a nice strong clutch and that it is not slipping.

well i would:
1. read the FAQ
2. full tune up
3. rewire the fuel pump to run a full 12 volts
4. get a rtek1.7 chipped ecu...and 720s (weird have this stuff for sale...)
5. intake/exhaust exhaust is better to have, just depends how much $$ u want to throw down..
but really, the rtek7 v1.7 is a sweet set up, and u should really look into it. i think the web site is www.digitaltunning.com
