Question First start in 4 or so months

I bought an 88 rx7 off of a friend of mine about 4 months ago, I had been driving it on a couple of day insurance passes and until now I have not had the money to put it on the road. I have been trying to get it started today without any luck. I know very little about the mechanics of the car beyond the basic nature of how rotors work.
Anyways... when I try to start the car (with a jump from a friend due to a dead battery) it simply refuses to roll over. The starter seems to be working fine and there is gas/oil in the car, but it just will not ignite. A friend of mine who knows a lot about domestics suggested trying to prime it, but has no idea how to do this on a rotor.
If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated.

It may be flooded, pull the egi fuse from under hood. Crank the motor to burn off fuel. Replace fuse, try to start again...
