mod options for the na?

Hey all...well Im still saving and looking for an rx7 (almost non existant here in kc mo). I would REALLY wnat a turbo model, so #1, which models came with turbo? How much should I expect to pay for an s5 turbo model? Ok, now to my main question. If I decide to go with the n/a, what type of mod options am I looking at? Is it possible to get an n/a into the mid 12's reliably? Well thanks for all the help...

The only turbo models are called Turbo II's TII for short. For an S5 TII expect anywhere from 3k-9k depending on the condition and many other variables. The THING is you probably won't find an S5 TII they are RARE.

Onto the N/a part. NO you can't get a two rotor N/a into 12's reliably. I would say 13's maybe if you have a lot of money.

Haha....sorry the thought of a 13B in the 12s reliably and streetably made me laugh For a S5 turbo model , if you can even find one, in good shape expect to pay at least $4000. All turbo models were called "Turbo2". A N/A rx-7 is still a great car, just doesnt have as much speed potential as a turbo. For a very well modified N/A, look for 1/4 times in the mid-low 14s.

Ok, well hey, if I got an n/a and later decided I wanted to drop in a jdm 13b turbo with streeport (what I was going to if I got a TII anyways), how hard would it be? What all would I need? How about a price estimate? (not including motor) Well thanks all...also what WOULD it take to get an n/a into the 14's

for the N/A get header W/ your choice of exhaust ( cat back, straight, duel)get intake w/ cold air box and an air ducting headlight cover, port you intake manifold, get lighted FW w/ good clutch, ignition, underdrive pullley, shorter final drive, also lighten the car car. That should make it a pretty quick street car.

For a TII swap you would need a J-spec or other core and rebuild the little fok. and all the drivetrain from a TII and either a stock ECU and harness or an EMS. Probably around 3k dollars done PROPERLY.

To get an N/a into the 14's....

Custom fabbed true duals ~ 600
Cold air intake ~200
Remove every luxury from the car= FREE
PR racing sleeves ~50
Port matched intake and TB ~20(ala dremel )
A good clutch and flywheel combo ~700
Lightweght wheels ~200(vert rims :p)
Drag radials ???
Three MSD6a's ~3-400(used)
etc....

This is probably just to get you on your way.

Oh and most importantly a GOOD Driver.

14s can be alittle tricky unless you streetport it.

Pacesetter header or RB header $150
K&N filter/fabbed cold air box- $60
ported Intake manifold- free with tools
ported modded throttle body- free with tools
pineapple racing sleeves- $50
cat-back exhaust- $500
gutted cat- free with screwdriver
good tires~ $400
underdrive pulleys- $5 at junkyard, or $50+
remove airpump and power steering and a few other things under the hood and you could get into the 14s, you might need an aftermarket clutch too.

Make sure all of your fluids are good and tune up is done aswell, you wont make much power if your motor isnt at its full potential.
