Hi everyone. Ive been a lurker for quite sometime and decided to fiannly make a post

For the last year and a half ive been slowly pluging away on my project FC's tall mods list and the t2 swap for my 87 Sport FC. The car was originally a junk yard bound car that was saved from devistation. With it I will soon to be undergoing a complete front to rear T2 swap and (hopefully) should have it together by the end of the year. That might seem like a long time(and heh... it is) but with a family and all its not that easy. This will be my first rotary powered project and Im looking forward to getting it done.

Take care

Holas to you,

I also have no time and many responsibilities. Just got my first 7 this summer, and I'm hanging on the edge of the fence as to weather or not I do a conversion or just sell the car and try and find a stock turbo. Maybe ill just buy another one and keep both :-P

Anyways howdy!

Welcome. Good luck with the swap! I didn't even want to bother with it, that's why I bought a TII a couple of weeks ago. Post pics as you go!

Hey man,

I was doing someting that you do. Since 2 years ago, I was restoring my Turbo 2. I make all the interiors, paint (outside, engine compartment, under chassis, interior chassis), body kit installation , brakes, custon dual 3" exhaust system, resolving all electrical issues, shocks, suspension bushings, lights and switches repair, etc and this week I complete and installed the roll bar with 4 point seat harness. I'm wating for some parts that I brought from mazdatrix to finish the engine and install it. Here is a pic of the baby some monts ago.

Hey I've got a 87 turbo II project as well! This site is so useful. I work @ mid city mazda and my dream car was traded in. An 87 turbo with a mazda rebuilt engine. Poor guy he sunk over $5,000 into this vehicle and gave up. Only to come find that the first cat had fallen apart into the other. That's a note to eveyone! DON'T HAVE A SHOP WORK ON YOUR VEHCILE IF THEY DON'T KNOW THE CAR. This car is so well taken care of that I bet he didn't need a new engine! I don't know why im saying this but i am

Thanks everyone ...this is definatly a great place for info for the most part . I have some questions and concerns that im trying to work out and the serch button isnt helpfull all of the time. As far as pics on progress I plan on it scince the swap will take place in my garage.

I live in Inverness (citrus county) btw. Its about an hour/hour and a half or so from you rotary roderick.

Some of my concerns at the moment is getting everything together and making sure i have everything I need for sure. Im short a set of injectors and a engine harness(both i have found but have yet to pick up). One thing im not sure about is if the "T2 Knock Control Unit" and the "T2 N326 Engine failure box" are the same thing(just certain people call it different names). What I have is the smaller light grey plastic box with the N326 part # on it. Second issue is if the n/a and the solinoids, resistors, and relays are compatible to my T2(for the exception of the fuel pump which i also have the resistor and relay).

If anyone can give further help that would be great.

Thanks again

"Second issue is if the n/a and the solinoids, resistors, and relays are compatible to my T2(for the exception of the fuel pump which i also have the resistor and relay)."

This will give you an idea of what I do in this ocassions.

I go to mazdatrix.com and check the parts. If the parts work for n/a and turbo, is the same for both cars. Check the description, application years, part numbers, models, etc. This will give you a clue for used parts exchange
from n/a and turbo models.
