Alright i perdy happy that i got to keep my rx7!! but now i got an extra 800 bux to spend on a mod imma do a poll. My choices are full exhuast with FCD and fuel pump. Shocks and struts and replace any worn bushings. Get the dents taken out. Or Rims?

This is a poll that should mean nothing to you: you know the condition of your car, and you know what would make you happier.

If you need power, then exhaust-intake-FCD is the way to go. If you need the car to look good, then dents-paint is DA BOMB!! If you want close-to-stock performance, then springs-shocks-bushings-struts should be your choice....

I chose exhaust btw...

Application?

Turbo or NA? Sorry, I haven't been keeping up with your story. Either way, I'd go with some suspension mods, unless your out to just zip around at the stop lights. If you're interested in having some fun in the local twisties, then suspension is the way to go. If you have a Turbo, you'll see more bang for your performance buck with exhaust and an FCD. So it all depends =P

With $800, you should be able to buy full exhaust/fcd/fuel pump AND an S-AFC!!!....with money left over to take your mom's to McDonald's...

...besides, you'll need to add a little extra fuel with that full exhaust

take your car to an exhaust shop and have them make you a single 3" exhaust from the cat back and save some major $$$ vs. buying an s/s $500 unit. Then when you get home put a test pipe on it (off road no cat ).

I would drop some coin and get Yokohama AVS tires as they are around $80 per tire on tirerack.com and are pretty good for the coin. S-03's would be the **** though. Your stock '90 T2 rims are pretty light and will do the job for now.

Walbro 255lph (340 model) fuel pump shouldn't set you back more than $130 if you look hard enuf and is easy to install yourself.

FCD also as other have stated!

Then you can get some new struts/shocks and save up for springs later.

Most of the guys aren't taking in to consideration that in order to go fast you need to be able to control your car. Do the shocks and bushings. It'll save your life.

Actually if I were him I would get a used e-fan , Fluidyne radiator, used turbo timer, used FCD, Used S-AFC (250) get paint and dings out for 350 at some places...basic colors only...Looks good to. total comes out to a little over 1000 bucks. But its best to get your reliability mods done first. Intercooler wouldnt hurt as well as a TB mod getting rid of that thermowax going throu the TB...My friend has done it and said his engine was noticably cooler.

With 800 bucks I would go for an upgraded intake and a down pipe.

The rule of thumb:

Get the car running in top shape before doing any modifcation.

When the car is running smoothly with no problem, keep an eye on those worn suspension and brakes.

The best thing about new suspension is that you go faster because you CAN go faster. You don't realize how much softer you drive when you're compensating for worn springs/struts/shocks. What good is more power if your wheels are bouncing all over?
How are your roads out there? Mythically smooth California roads or the nasty, no-lower-than-a-55series-tire roads we have?

Had KYBs (GR2s) on both Opels. Great shocks.Took a lot of abuse and never had problems. Just put AGXs and Eibach Prokit springs on my 87 GXL. Some say the progressive springs aren't predictable for serious driveing, but they feel good to me. Time will tell. Save some money and get the AGXs. You will be happier in the long run. You will get to play with the settings and learn stuff about how suspensions work. Plus you will sound like a serious car guy (sorry-"car person"-P.C.) talking about it. Always good to sound knowledgeable when girls are around! Even if they aren't listening!

If the cars in good shape and you want to keep it that way, do the suspension. The new dampers and hardware will keep her from developing rattles and squeaks (mostly). Plus its about 1000% more fun in the corners. I went with exhaust soon as I got my car and I regret it now as I havent done suspension.
Next I'd probably get the dents taken care of, especially if the paint flaked off.
I'd say the best route for 800 is probably to get struts, springs, and a downpipe. That way you get a bit more power, you can control it in the corners better, and the cars happier because it isnt getting pounded to death with worn struts and it can breathe easier without that precat on there.

Good luck with it
Geoff

ack, use some of those 800 dOllArs to learn proper grammar and spelling! I can't express how goddamned annoying it is to read improper grammar with hundreds of spelling mistakes.

not that I'm forced to read it or anything...

now, on the topic at hand..
if your car has 150K on it, i'd look into getting its compression checked before I did any power mods!
