i jsut got my 88 RX-7 and i have around 400CAN left what should i do it with? what will give me the most power in my price range?
i was thinking of either exhaust or intake but i'll probably get the intake cause i can install it myself, any suggestions?

with intake you'll get minimal increase in hp. With the exhaust, you'll want a catback at the bare minimum and I don't THINK you can get it for cheaper than 600USD. I don't THINK that you can at least. In any case, if it was up to me, I'd probably get headers. That's just me, and then get the exahust to compliment the headers. Anyways, good luck!

how much hp will headers give me?
what about a performance chip? i heard that they add quite a bit of HP but when i get more mods on the car would i have to get a new chip(a waste of money) or does the company reprogram it for free?

get a race pipe or presilencer to replace your cats. about $100CDN
get a custom single side pipe made with freeflow muffler to replace y pipe. about $300
noticeable power and sounds good too!

I would get a straigt pipe made from the stock manifold to the stock cat back. maybe $100 at local exhaust shop. then a K&N cone, air pump breather, and hks adapter from www.k2rd.com $100 total. now you have to figure out how to get your 6 ports to work...
header is good but will probably cost $400 by itself. catback will give you little power for the money.
spend your other 200 on full tune up, plugs, wires, fuel filter, oil and filter, coolant flush and new mazda thermostat, get your tps and timming checked.
