first firing of 13bt

I have a 87 turbo 2 i installed a new atkins streetported 3mm engine with custom built turbo 720cc secondaries and to much other stuff to list adding up to the heffty sum of around $12,000 ...im very ecited to get it on the road i havent started it yet and this is the first rotary engine ive installed and im not sure if there is any certian precautions or things i should do before firing it is there a way to prime the engine with oil or anything?and another thing that worries me is when u stand in front of the engine it looks like its angled towards the passenger seat its not even close to being straight but the mounts bolted up fine do these have any ajustment in them? is this normal??

The angle is normal. What kind of supporting mods have you installed to work with the streetport?

It's probably goofy, but I pull the oil filter off and, using a oil squirt can, inject oil into both the middle hole in the base of the filter pedestal and the other hole til they fill up. Then I rotate by hand the engine til the oil level goes down and repeat.

Then when I get bored or think I've done enough of that, I put the filter back on and remove the Lead plugs. I then spin the engine over with the starter with the cas disconnected til I see a good rise in oil pressure. It helps to have oil in the pan when you do that. humor

Put a lil oil on the Leading plug holes to help get a little base compression when you first fire it up, helped for me. Make sure all connections are good. Nice strong battery and be ready for a lot of smoke.

Its a hotstart issue man. When you get a new engine, the apex seals haven't fully expanded yet. Compression will be low until break-in is complete. After that, starting and driving will be normal.

Just shut the car off with your fuel cut switch and it should start up again.
