Fires up w/o clutch, normal?? Diff. between 86 and 87 ECU harness?
Accidentally deleted my post before postin' it. So, here it goes again.
I fired up my 86 GXL NA RX-7 after throwin' in a 13B out of an 87 RX-7. I think it was the middle trim, since it had a sunroof, but no power windows. Anyways, my engine fires up w/o me havin' to step on the clutch. That's never happened before, and my anti-theft deterrent never worked when I bought the GXL 4 years ago. Any ideas to what it is? This has never happened to me before, and friends are puzzled about it too.
Also, since I kept the stock ECU harness on my 86 GXL, I was wonderin' if there's a difference between the 86 and 87 ECU harness. There's some plugs that aren't plug into anythin'. And I've traced the plugs, tryin' to figure where they can go. Oh, and I suck at readin' wire diagrams (my biggest weakness). Yes, unfortunately, I unplugged the ECU harness from the engine, instead of goin' the easy way of unpluggin' from ECU
Last but not least, the ECU's numbers between the 86 and 87 are different, by one letter. I was wonderin' if there's a difference between them. Meaning, should I go ahead and swap the ECU to the 87 ECU, since the engine came outta an 87?
