Firebird Tires (will they fit)

I have a 87 n/a with the phone dial 14" 4 lug, and I am in need of new tires badly, but short on money of course. My friend just got new rims on his 95 firebird and his old tires have a lot of life left on them. if I did the 5 lug conversion would these tires fit on my car? They are the stock rims 215/60-16 with 5 lugs. If they would fit what am I looking at to do the conversion? how much is involved?

the offset of the rim would be you biggest issue, as I recall most of the F bodies used a 23mm offset.

Hehe, I can hear my old English teacher preaching about double negatives now.

Yes, because F-body bolt patterns are 5x120mm, the RX-7 is 5x114..

Take his stock rims if he doesn't want them and sell em for a few hundred on ebay towards new rims!

Wow, when did they do that?&nbsp My friend's 1990 IROC (yeah, over 10 years old) was still a 5x4.5" bolt pattern.

um.. I'm pretty sure it's 5x4.75, but I'll go doublecheck

Edit: Yep, 5x4.75 (close enough to 5x120) Dunno when that changed on the 3rd gen, since I know of several racers who switch between 3rd and 4th gen wheels, depending on what they need.

FORD bolt pattern 5x4.5. GM 5x4.75 IIRC

5x4.5 is the same as the RX-7 (5x114.3)
