fine when driving rough when idle

Hey guys... just to day i started up my car fine... I drove to school fine... then coming home... well everytime i would stop at a light or just cruse with clutch in.. it would hesitate. I mean to the point where it is going to die.. but it kicks up the fuel and pops back to 1 g idle. Every so often about 10 or 20 seconds in between it would hesitate slightly... i mean 100 200 revs up and down.. but the part that i dont understand is that it starts fine ... so i dont think compression or apex seals are going out... OH>>> i checked the oil when car was running and i just drove about 18 miles... but the **** had bubbles in it.... GULP.. .i dont know what that means but hopefully you all can help... (well people that know what they are talking about atleast...)

So this is pulsating idle or occassional rough idle but it's smooth normally?

Does the rmps drop and not recover when you hit the brakes, headlights on, etc..??

Well that sounds more like (in order of probability):

1) Vacuum Leaks
2) TPS is out of adjustment / bad
3) Compression issues
4) Idle screw's been mest with
5) Grounding issues
6) Igntion issues (plugs & wires were changed when??)
