Finally, new motor, flyin' now

well it is finally in the car and working.

A rebuild from a fellow forum member. it was dynoed in their car at 165 to the wheels running rich. I am hoping to do some dyno time in the very near future and some tuning to get the most out of the stock EFI set up.

But I have a nice Holley 600cfm form racing beat that will go on as the winter project. That should really make some hp.

The install did go fairly smoothly. Aside from a few small hitches. The front oil cooler line, where it attaches to the car had a small crack and was peeing oil, so i Had to pull the motor back out and take it to a welder, aluminum welders are my heroes(no more leaks). Than I noticed that I had the clutch a wee bit out of alignment so i HAd to redo that. But now she is in a running. Unfortunatley she is running very rich, my O2 sensor is bithced, getting a new one today.

This motor pulls damn hard. I can't wait to tune it and get all the power it has hidden away.

The super nice guy who sold me the motor gave me the craziest deal, threw in the trannie, an aluminum hood and a hoist for another 100 bucks. This guy is seriously a super guy.

Special thanks goes out to James, thanks Bro. I'll get you some cigars brother!

i will update as things progress

Sounds good bud. Are there specs to go along with this motor? And as always lets see some pics of your install

I did not build this motor, so I cannot take credit. From what I was told it is s4 rotors and housings except the intermediate is a tII housing. Large secondary ports mild primary. He researched and designed it to make a wide power band for the street and also for a progressive nitrous setup to handle up to 200 shot of nitrous.

I don't think I will be going with funny gas for a while anyway though.I really want to get the carb on and see how that reacts.

it is running super rich right now and shooting some serious flames. But I am really not happy with the premix oil I am running. It is smoking like crazy. I mean like James Bond smoke screen style. really embarrasing.

I also put in the competition motor mounts, thos e are really nice.

I will put up pics this afternoon, but it looks the same as before. just hella fast now.

did some adjusting on the safc yesterday, used the old dyno to get soem baselines. Worked out well, car seems to not only run smoother, but also pulls harder.

Check out the torque this motor has. heres the dyno from the old car

I built the motor and did the porting design and implimentation (got metal flakes in my eye to prove it)

Street porting with special care in maximizing flow and optimizing powerband in the useable range.

I can build more of them if anyone wants one. PM me.
