finally i fixed something...

Just installed my 3 inch Catco Cat this morning in my S4 GXL and the car runs like a champ. Before I had that notorious 3800 rpm hesitation, after the install, car pulls through that so much better; No hint of hesitation anymore. Think because my ports can finally open again. But just for precaution, gonna disassemble actuators to clean and adjust anyway. Just one thing left to cure Idleing blues... checking for vacuum leaks and installing new gaskets for intake. Think I can fix my idle?

Ummmmmmm... I'm pretty sure that the S4 5th/6th ports open with back pressure. *EDIT* Nevermind I wasn't reading everything and figured you put a 3 inch exhaust on. So I'm guessing that you did hook the line to the cat then.

About the 3,800rpm hesitation. If you haven't already I suggest upgrading your grounds. That is the main reason for the 3,800rpm hesitation so I've heard.

I'm also having some idle issues and my plan this winter is to replace all the vaccum hoses, installing new gaskets for the intake, and cleaning out the BACV. Hopefully that will cure my idle issues as well.

If you are going to be taking apart the actuators you might consider putting in the Pineapple Racing sleeves. Just trying to be helpful.

Wow you have been very informative. Thank you. As for the upgrades, nothing special, just: intake and exhaust for now. Yes i did hook the line back to the cat from the airpump, I made sure the muffler shop guy did that. As for those racing sleeves, is it a must if I disassemble the actuators? Or should I just be careful when I take everything apart?

I'm not 100% sure about the installation about the sleeves. Someone who has done the installation will have to tell you.

I would be carefull when taking anything apart.

I have heard good things about the power in the higher rpms after installing these. I'm planning on installing them this winter.
