Finally got my FC -- a few problems though!!

Alright... I got my car and it was extremely filthy on the exterior (Normal, a week of trucking from NJ to OK) -- I'll give her a good wash tomorrow, but....

Ok, I cannot keep it running, I have to keep it revved or else it will flat out stall. The air/fuel mixture said it was running lean (Two bars), and FlyBy116 said it also had a vacuum leak, which by the way I have NO idea how to fix. The A'Pexi S-AFC Manual is all Chinese so there is no way in hell I could figure it out...

Anyways, There are more flaws to the exterior than I expected... more scratches and all, but that's alright. The interior is almost perfect in every way. Short shifter is EXTREMELY short, but that's a good thing -- I got the car and after about 30min of just testing things out, with the headlights on for about a total of 5min of the time, the battery went dead... New battery I guess? It is charging as I write.

The trucker who brought it said that he smelled burning clutch, it's pretty much a brand new clutch so I don't know why it would do that, but perhaps it needs adjustment?

Overall, I'm disappointed so far, but hopefully I'll get it on the right track again... any response would be great from any of you! Thanks...

a vac leak will create hellish nightmares on keeping it running. What rpm can you get it to stay running at? you can try to adjust the stop screw so that it will remain idling, then spraying carb cleaner around the engine until you find a spot where it revs up and smooths out, or bogs terribly, either or, that's where your vac leak will be.

It bogs at like 0-500RPM and dies very quickly... have to rev it from 1000-2000 -- Where is the stop screw? I'll look into the carb cleaner thing...

Hell if I know where it's at on an NA, I just know it's somewhere! I usually just adjust the two bolts that are on the throttle cable, and adjust it so it's holding the throttle open enough for it to idle (on my NA)

battery should be ok, prolly just didnt like sitting being shipped and the repeated starts to move it around while shipping... charge it up and you should be ok

to tune the safc you need to take it to a dyno / wideband... most likely the guy there should be able to help you out

since the car has the duals on it the trucker might have been smelling the raw exaust and confused that for the clutch burning... i dunno

as far as the vac leak goes, download the factory service manual and look over the vac diagrams, and then do a search for how people have diagnosed vac leaks (carb cleaner, propane, water)

good luck

How will I even get it to a dyno... I don't want to run it lean the whole way there because that will harm the engine... if I can even get it there!!

I am 99% sure you are not running lean. I talked to Nick since he rebuilt the engine. He is running rich if anything. If you are really worried then turn up the fuel from the S-AFC to be sure then when you get to the dyno ask the guy to check the air fuel ratio and tune it to a safe setting.

Tow it to the dyno then. But don't get it dynoed until you get the vacuum leak fixed. Otherwise, you're wasting your time and energy.

yeah... I don't really even know how to turn the SAFC up just a bit!! The whole thing is just really complicated for now, so I'll just leave it alone
