A few quick weightloss questions-searched... couldn't find answers...

I was wondering if anyone knew the actual weight of one of the stock seats... because I'm taking out my passenger seat.... no one ever rides with me.

Also; I am planning on taking the carpet out of the hatch and it looks like you can take out just the carpet in the hatch without having to cut anything.... is that true ?

The actual weight of the passenger seat is under 30lbs. I wouldn't bother taking it out unless it was a track dedicated car and you didn't need an instructor to ride with you; On the off chance that you actually got a date, where would they sit? ;-)

you dont have to cut anything to get any of the carpet out. even the front carpet. taking your passenger seat out for weight reduction is silly.

Yeah, I just didn't know if the back carpet was actually seperated from the front because I want to keep the carpet in the front.

Oh and I rofl'd at the odd chance of getting a date simply because that is why I want to take it out. No dates for this guy..... cough cough... women are too expensive around here anyways.

That seat just mocks me when I'm driving around......

Well I'm sorry you can't get a date, but really, whats the point in trying to save weight when this is (what seems to be) your daily driver? Really, if you remove all carpets and passenger seat, your saving about ~40lbs. Making your interior look ugly and uncomfortable is just not worth it for a whopping 40lbs IMO. Next time you drive your car, take a big dump before driving, now that my friend is weight reduction.

EDIT:
If you have an S5, convert your seatbelts to manual S4 belts. You'll save about the same amount of weight and it still looks good.

Thought I'd update my thread and let you all know that I decided that just taking out the carpet and that seat wasn't going to cut it and I needed to take some extreme measures.
So to help me lose weight I got worms.

yah, taking the seats and carpet out isnt fun on a daily driver. **** gets noisy real quick. and then you miss the clean look it once had, and then you just give up on the car and wreck it.

Just take out the seat and carpet, and everything else you don't use. Who cares what it looks like. If you do get a date tell her she has to drive because you drive a race/drift car that doesn't have a passenger seat. My girlfriend never comes in my car, I make her drive us everywhere.

Well, I don't make her do anything, its more like she hates my car and the way I drive lol. Some girls just don't like going fast .

I'm on the side of 'keep the stuff in the car so it doesn't look shitty'. The weight savings aren't worth it. Plus taking the seat out will confirm without a doubt you have no date. With the seat in, people won't be so sure (could have dropped her off at the mall, etc.).

Full titanium exhaust? Carbon fiber doors + hood. 12A motor? LoL.

Maybe see if you can find a light weight solution to the rear hatch glass. That thing is heavy....
