Smile a few questions...

Well hello everyone...

I am new to this forum, but I had a few questions for anyone interested in answering them. I am looking into buying a second generation RX-7, but I'm trying to figure out what would be the best model to get. I have been reading around on many of the posts here, and from what it sounds like, a '89 or 90 would probably be the best bet because they have more HP(not only that, they are newer) then the earlier years and will still be at a price I can handle. What do you guys think?

Now this could be an obious question, but I got confused a bit... do they make GXL's in '89 and '90? or did they start making GTU's instead...? Well I guess that was all I needed to know for now, I will probably think of more after I get a few replies. Thanks.

Thumbs up nice...

Damn, thanks man... that helped a lot. Looks like an '89 or '90 GXL(or TII if I can find one) for me!

I like the way an S4 drives over an S5. The S5 feels all mushy. S4 feels like I am bolted directly to the machine.

S4: Sex w/o a condom.

Cool i see...

Hmmm... mushy in what way? Suspension? Seats?

I guess I will have to test drive both the S4's and S5's and see for myself. I can always replace the suspension later(I was planning on it anyway). I like the options and power that the S5's have, thanks for letting me know though... I'm going to keep that in mind now when looking.

Well, it has been almost a year now, but I finally have a nice FC lined up to buy.

It is a 1990 GXL with 73,000 miles and was just recently painted. I test drove it the other day and it seems to run well, so it looks like I will buying it pretty soon.

I wanted to ask for some advice though...
Are there any specific questions you think I should be asking this guy about the car or its history? I have asked the general questions... but he seems to be willing to sell it to me for a very reasonable price. All I know that it needs are some new tires right away, and the windshield wiper switch only works on the first setting.

Did you happen to check compression on it to see what the "health" of the engine is?

I just checked out Aaron Cake's write-up on what to look for when buying one of these cars... before I decide to make the purchase, I'll make sure to check the things he mentioned.
