Feels like clutch is slipping.. but it's NOT

First off, this is some fucked up ****.
87NA
When I accelerate in all gears below about 3000 RPMS, the whole car acts like it's going to fly apart. CD's skip, babys cry, etc. First i thought maybe it was the clutch so I got on it on an onramp.. but when i hit about 3 grand it stopped completely and accelerated smoothly the rest of the way up. I noticed similar trends in all gears. Now here's the kicker: the car doesn't like to go into gear when I start it. When I drove it home, I had to shift into 3rd first and then reverse because that was the only gear it would go in. It acted like I didn't even have the clutch in. Perhaps something wrong with the tranny, eh?

perhaps.. NOT
lol sorry.. I've thought about that and it's too cold here to go check it tonight.. but that still doesn't explain the vibration when I accelerate.. I mean.. this isn't like a slight vibration. This is violent. My dad said he could hear the car vibrating from inside the house when I left this morning.

hmmm... crazy vibration could be from wrong counterweight or incorrectly installed (if thats even possible?) counterweight, but it wouldnt go away at high RPM's. in fact, any vibration due to imbalance (driveshaft or something) would only get worse at higher RPM's....
