Really loud. Shouldn't be too bad if you still have a stock exhaust manifold and cats. With a header and mid-pipe, it's too loud for the road.

If you're looking to pick up a corksport I've got one for sale (shameless self-plug)

Seriously though I wouldn't run one without a cat or some other form of resonator, very loud.

^^ agreed. they are very loud if you dont have the right setup. just run a high flow cat and your fine. i dont know about the NA but turbo is good.

It's very similar to the XS Power and Motoria brand exhausts...

They're all very unrestrictive with 3" Stainless pipe back to the Y pipe and dual straight through mufflers... Each muffler has a removable baffle to quiet it down. They don't do much though... The tips are 4 or 5 inches. It's obvious you have a loud exhaust even when the car isn't running.

I just got an exhaust ticket for my XS Power yesterday...
My friend down the road gets tickes in his GTUs with Motoria...
Both of us have headers. (I have a Racing Beat, he has a Pacesetter. Both of us have cats.)

Suggest a Borla if you're concerned about noise.
It looks similar to stock and sounds nice... It's going on for the court date.

I am still going to run stock exhaust manifold, precats and cat as of now. Hopefully go with a nice header sometime soon. Thank you all!

Would running a Cat quiet down this exhaust right now?

Would running a downpipe, stock cat, and 3in catback be quiet? not the to the point your ears bleed?

Also, is the stock cat really restrictive? I want my car to breath, but I do need the cat to pass inspection and keep the car quiet.

I ran an rb header and presilencer to this style of catback... it was the loudest thing ever.
I LOVED IT... the police and neighbors and any animals people or otherwise within earshot did not.

that being said if you run it with a cat it may be quieter, I wouldnt recommend using the stocker though it sucks and is probably clogged by now Bonez makes a nice one http://www.rx7.com/store/rx7/fcexhaust.html

you will probably do better to buy a header and run your stock catback power wise

EDIT
whoops didnt realize your car was turbo. this exhaust shouldnt be too stupidly loud with a cat at all

yes

it will be mediocre

its restrictive, but then again you didnt ask a question in the second part. reformulate it better.

If I still retained the stock cat, would sound be much lower and would my turbo breathe a lot more as opposed to me just getting a downpipe?

example:
Downpipe - Cat - catback
Downpipe - Cat - stock catback

Would a downpipe set up with a cat back and cat flow the same as a downpipe with a cat and stock catback since the cat is still there, I wonder if an added catback will add better flow.

im running the same set-up rb headers, rb presilencer and the corksport 3in cat-back took it for a ride around the block and park it up thats how loud it was thinking about putting a vibrant resonator between the muffler and presilencer but i dont know how big of a difference it will make
