Features that need switches: Command console

I got bored tonight, and was looking around my '7 for things that could use the addition of switches. I'm planning to make a switch console under the tape deck with a bunch of toggle switches, and I came up with the following list of things to control:

Fuel pump cutoff: (Normal/Disabled)
Horn: (Normal/Air horn/Both)
6th ports: (Closed/Auto/Open)
External light cutoff: (Legal/VERY Illegal)
Radio antenna: (Auto/Down)
Daytime Running Lights: (On/Auto/Off)

Anything else I should add switches for? I was thinking of adding "wink" functionality, but... eh. I'm not sure I feel like really doing the logic circuits for that one (to raise the lights when off & lower them when on), and I think it's kind of silly anyway.

As for how I'm planning to wire these various things up:

Fuel pump cutoff: Fuel pump relay under the dash, as per RotaryResurrection's suggestion
Horn: A few relays in the front, driven off the main horn relay.
6th ports: Using a modded air compressor, and a custom made RPM switch
External light cutoff: Not sure on this one... I was thinking of putting relays in the ground lines in the back, but I want to cut the side marker lights off as well. Ideas?
Radio antenna: I should be able to just tie into the antenna cable behind the dash & either tie it to ground or passthrough
Daytime running lights: As per AaronCake's suggestions.

Thoughts? Additions?

wouldnt work on the stock 7, for those with standalones, either a console switch for the 2step or clutch mounted switch...

(Edit for sig violation)

Yea, basically. I probably won't actually use it much, but it would be a good way to demonstrate what the ports actually do in terms of powerband.

Also useful for being able to flip the ports on to demonstrate how they actuate.

... basically, I like switches. A lot. Especially switches that actually do things, even if slightly useless.

hahaa...i thought about this awhile back...i was gonna wire in 10 or so unlabled switches....each connected in series to another then at the end of it hooked up to the ignition.....it would be funny to see some thief tying to figure out how to start my car with all those switches.....

You want to be able to only kill the rear lights and the side markers with that external light kill switch. You need to remember to kill the brake lights also.

Well, yes. I suppose I should have labeled it better, and I'm actually not sure how I'm going to physically kill the lights, but it will disable everything except the headlights.

For... uh... "show purposes only."

those light kill switches are good idea. i was thinking about installing similar switches this week. Any recomendations aon where to get carbon fiber ones? Im putting in remote start and fan switch to activate my fans during stop and go traffic, another push button switch for my pop up trunk and an xtra switch just in case I come up with another thing to hook up like ac converter for my PS2 or sumtin.

No, that's actually the area behind my center console.

I'm done for now. I decided to back off on the grandiose switch plans & just do some simple stuff.

The air horns are wired to fire at the same time as the stock horns. It's quite the impressive sound now.

The 6th ports are on a switch. Soon there will be an RPM switch for "automatic" mode, but... right now they're manual.

The daytime running lights are wired in & working. I really need to clean my FTP lenses...

And, the external light cutoff switch is wired in, tested, and works. It cuts off everything except the headlights (including the brake lights). It doesn't bother the turn signal, but it's easy enough to just not touch it.

No, not street racing. Canyon running, maybe. It turns off everything except the headlights.

Honestly, the biggest reason I did it was to see if I could. I was *GOING* to post a howto on it, but the forum repeatedly ate my reply, so I'll try doing it later. I hadn't seen anything detailing how to do it, so I dug through the FSM & found what I needed.
