fd turbo fitting a fc?
I was talking with some dude while autocrossing who had played around with RX-7s back in the day. And he was saying that the FD turbo is a direct bolt in. I've never heard about this before. Anyone know anything about this?

i'm pretty sure they're just referring to bolting in one of the two...i'm interested as well, is one fd turbo better than a stock s5 turbo? or are they the same?

To me it sounds like this guy thinks you can just unbolt one turbo from the stock twin setup from an fd, and im saying you can't do that.

it is possible to bolt the twins on to an s4 or s5 turbo block. the manifold will bolt on no problem. You can weld the flapper open on the inside of the mani and that will make both turbos run paralell. You can not use the sequential setup however, as yes, many vacuum lines, solenoids, computer control, etc.

Stop spreading false information - have you done this before?
The 13B-REW twin turbos hug the engine closer, so it will NOT fit.
They will hit the lower intake manifold of the FC3S 13BT.

Technically, they fit if you use spacers. Clearance around the frame rail then becomes...minimal. There's a guy local to me who is doing this (though I'm not sure why 
).

88t2nomad i'm not familiar with the stock twin turbo set up on the fd, so i really wouldn't know, hence the "i'm interested", whatever, laugh it up. haha.
edit: also make sure you look at gigenhagen's first post about the guy referring to directly bolting them in then you'll probably understand why i followed up with just bolting one in.

I am doing this conversion myself right now. I ordered the spacers from racingbeat.com and have the full stock fd turbo setup to work with. Gunna take some work but when I'm done it's going to be C R A Z Y.

crazy with small *** twin turbos? I don't understand why you just don't get a bnr upgrade. You could go with the stage IV and it would be a direct bolt on. You would be yeilding close to 400rwhp with it and it would be way more simple than the setup your doing. But oh well, I would love to see pics when your done. Good luck

the reason I'm not going with an upgrade like that, is b/c I just plain dont have the money. ;p. I've got the full FD setup just sittin here at the house waiting to be used. And since I cant seem to sell them, why not use em? Wont be too slow running about 16psi + all the other mods I have done to the car.

The FD turbos are truly terrible. They just don't last. I don't think I've EVER heard and FD owner say anything good about them. I'm sure they'll make all the power you need them to, until they start puking oil.
