FD Pump in FC

I have searched for the past two hours now AND I read Aaron Cake's guide to turboing the NA. I was wondering... a friend told me that to run an FD pump in an FC you must add a resistor in line... is this true or is the FD pump a direct swap?

Last time I checked it's a 12 volt straight swap. The FC runs the pump in stages...So most people run a Fresh & New 12 volt source. It's the injectors that need a resistor in liine to swap from Saturated to Peak & Hold.

According to my notes, the FD pump flows "20% more" then the FC TII pump. Which means that you could raise the fuel pressure if the FC regulator cannot handle it, causing you to run rich. It is however a direct physical swap. Since the TII has the whole fuel pump resistor setup already, you can probably swap it in directly without any major issues under light load. It will make the car run richer under boost but I assume you plan on turning the boost up anyway...Oh, and you have an S-AFC.

I only noticed a slight change (.1-.2) in AFR at IDLE only, any load, and it was the same. This was on an NA by the way.

I had an FD pump on my NA as well (friend gave it to me for free). It didn't make much of a difference in gas mileage or AFR's surprisingly.
