FD Feed rocker extensions on FC. Installed

Hi Guys,

Had some good weather this weekend in Detroit and got the rocker extensions put on the FC. These are Feed replicas for an FD. I had to cut about 2" from the front to get the length right. The FD has a slight kick out at the back, but I think it looks just fine on an FC. Helps even out the Mike L front lip

you know a guy is old school when he knows what a Mike L lip is

There was someone selling these for FCs a while back I guess he cut what was needed off them prior to sending them out

I have a set of odula rockers upstairs been meaning to fit them and get them on the car.

I replicated that lip after the one i had on a coupe needed too many repairs.
You will like the lights, did you get the smaller non-hack ones or the larger some surgery required version?

I suppose you could glass in a new lip on the front. I cut it and sanded it to blend it. I think you're splitting hairs and that's coming from a perfectionist LOL

Here's another equally as not good photo of the other side. I'll back it out this weekend for it's spring cleaning and some additional pictures

Would cutting a chunk off the middle and smoothing out been a better option? Prolly depends on how the front shape worked at the front.

I would much rather add a 1/8" lip material to the front than section the center. But it is truly just fine as is.

Some of the Miata guys cut the back side off, but in my mind I'd rather have a tapered leading edge vs. trailing. In addition, the back portion is more visually interesting and the front has much more material available to remove before you start to cut away the mounting surface to the rocker. Based off how much they removed I'm going to guess they would have to trim into the front mounting area which would look weird, the back was the lesser of two evils. Could do it either way.

With 436 RWHP, the rear edge is all people are going to see anyway.

That front edge could be nicely integrated into a mudflap of some sort.

On new mustangs they sort of have a front edge to cover up the leading edge of the roush side splitters. The way our front fenders curve and the way the lip integrates to the rocker would make it hard to do something like that without looking weird. I'll get a close up side shot so you can see what I'm talking about

My main goal for this was to enhance the existing lines, I feel even the factory S5 side skirt adds unnecessary bulk where this is very subtile. Remember, this is a S4, so options for side skirts is super limited.

could prove difficult to seam flawlessly, one idea running on that would be to cut it where the factory fender line runs down to the rocker, that way if there is a slight blemish it matches where the cars seam is.
