FD alt. plug and play??

FD alt. plug and play??

so iv been doing some reading about swapping a FD alt into my S5. from what i hear its a direct plug and play setup. im strongly considering doing this or the Taurus alt swap. anything i should know before i jump into this???

Mounting the FD alt in the S5 is "plug 'n play" except for the pulley.
The FD alternator has a slightly larger shaft, so the S5 pulley (actually, two pieces) needs boring to fit.

Most likely, yes, you can do it. But if you're uncomfotable, just find a machine shop in your area and they can do it for you.

nope, i just got the basic home garage tools at hand Clokker. and jerry LH3, is therer any sort of mesurement or anything like that i should give the machine shope guys? or just hand them the pully and alt and let them go at it?

It's not a very precise job and you're only removing a small amount of material.
I'm guessing most folks in your situation just have at it with a Dremel.

Honestly, I'd recommend getting the pulley japan2la sells. It's not just about the size of the hole, it's also the spacing of the pulley from the alternator housing while still maintaining proper alignment.
