fd alt adjustment

I was helping a friend with his fd the other day and noticed that the alt can be adjusted by screwing or unscrewing a bolt on the adjustment bracket. Can this be used on an fc? The black adj bracket looks similar the the fc's, except the fc doesn't have the special adj assembly.....you screw the bolt ccw to give slack and lessen belt tension, while screwing cw will raise the alt and give more belt tension

So it's similar to the adjustment mechanism on the power steering and AC compressor then.
If the bracket fits, I don't see why you couldn't use it.

Sure you could. Then after you solved the alternator belt crisis, you could parallel park by jacking up both ends of the car at the same time and rolling it sideways into the parking space!!!

Progress is sweet!

Jack,

Is hild59 some secret code translation for "***"?

It was a legitimate question. I can only assume your suggesting the FD adjustment bracket won't allow proper tension or alignment of the alternator belt on an FC. That is, if it actually can be retrofitted into an FC. Somewhere in that questionable intent of a response you seem to suggest you know something about attempting to do this.

You ask an honest question...............................

By the way, good luck with your parts sale. With that attitude I'm sure you'll attract loads of customers.
