Here are a couple of pictures from broken ones:



see you get a couple of weak *** spot welds, and then it cracks (usually around 50K miles) or pops off entirely... but that is usually way after you have messed up the tranny by half missing shifts.

BTW - do you have the AFE short shifter? Or a spare stock shifter around?

Yeah, that's about what I've been finding out from a bunch of other people as well.
