FC2000 owners questions for you.
I am looking to buy a FC2000 front nose in the next couple of months, question much lower is the front "lip" part of the nose than the stock one? Reason I am asking is that my huge intercooler right now is 1.5-20 inches bellow the stock S5 front nose minus factory front lip. I think if I had a factory front lip it would pretty much cover it up.

no I will put it out their. The fiber glass job on the kit is ok. Their is a lot of extra glass still unshaven on the inside. Fittiment out of the box is ok. Mine lines up great on one side and not so great on the other. Next is ordering. You order the thing and your card is charged for the 1000k and you have to pay in cash $110 to a shipping dock near your address. Next your lights are shipped (later on) and you get 4 hella lights from walmart. No wiring, no housing connections and no instructions. Oh yeah and a bunch of metal plates that I guess you would use for fabbing some light housing. And your credit card is charged $15 for shipping without notifying you. Next you get the clear light covers. Credit card charged another $15 dollars and when they show they don't even come close to fitting. Also no hardware is included to fasten these to the fiberglass. The plastic covers come from stock home depot plastic that will not standup to the heat of these lights. My friend has the same kit but its authentic and his lights and lexan covers are 100% better. Also his covers are 1 inch thick and are curved to fit the light covers. The ones in the kit are paper thin and you must bend them. I will use rivets and possibly glue/sealant to get these to seal properly. Like I said the overall experience with this setup is bad so far and thats why its not installed on the car yet. I will mess with it more when I can figure out how the light covers can seal up and not look like a backyard chop job.

well I highly doubt the instructions are in english. My problem is I think Rotary Extreme needs to setup its product quality. This is along the same reasons they don't sell the 3rd gen nose kit anymore as well. The kit just sucked

Keep in mind guys, that NO aftermarket front end replacement (especially one as complicated as the FC2000) with fit like the factory bumper cover. Granted, depending on the make of the kit there are large deviations in quality. The FC2000 kit (the authentic one) is almost designed to work for a wrecked car. You need to shimmy the quarter panels a bit, maybe scoot the hood forward a tad, etc.
And yes, the FC2000 is significantly lower than stock. If your worried about bottoming out on curbs and such, don't buy it. If you let your girlfriend drive it, the first times she parks it the front lip with be smashed on the curb. Its glass, it WILL crack. Thats the nature of the beast.
Ive had mine for 3 years, and its flaw free (knock on wood.) But I baby my car and it is NOT my daily driver....

putting it down daily
Pm Higgi- another option is he will make a mold off the stock fc2000 front end of just the headight buckets (the housing which holds the lights). Then you can chop your stock bumper and glass them in (or bolt em up, as I will do), and viola! Sleek headlights, and stock height. I am planning on getting a set from the higgster next month. I think he said he will make em for 250 shipped, no lights or hardware. That is still a damn sight cheaper than any kit you will find (ie eastbear, knightsports)!!
Hit him up on these- I hope to get a set real soon.

I'm in the process of installing my FC2000 bumper. There are some issues in fitment and there were some airholes under the gelcoat that cracked an now need to be filled. The fitment problems I had centered around the headlight cutout area. I'm putting on a widebody kit as well, so I can't speak for the fender fit.
For lighting I'm putting in a set of HIDs and then Hella high beams. You can go this route for about $450 shipped. The Lexan headlight covers didn't fit too well either, but I think they'll work.
One thing to keep in mind is how much cheaper this bumper is vs. the RE Amemiya version. It is less than half price, and it ships much sooner. Any fiberglass part (and RX7 for that matter) is subject to part-part variations, so going with the RE version won't guarantee perfect fitment. I'd say you should be prepared to do some bodywork with either version, which is a small price to pay for having a great looking front end.
