FC rollcage

Hello guys, hope u guys have a nice weekend. I plan to put rollcage on my FC to make the car stiffer . But not sure which one is the best. I plan use the car for something like touge and racing. I saw on forums and online that some people have many good rollcage. I dont want something too much like full rollcage.

I saw this one today and really like it. Does anyone know where I can get one same as this?

i like the idea of the cage going around the dash rather than through it, however that also weakens the cage dramatically. the one in that article is likely some unobtanium japanese make, and probably not available anymore.

Autopower makes decent roll cages.

you could just use the autopower 4 point cage and make your own forward bars.

That roll cage isn't so great. Hinge-type connections are weak, and there is a lot of S-curve in the front bars. The padding seems good though, as it appears to be high-density SFI padding.

Chassis rigidity is best obtained by a fully-welded roll cage that is attached to the car body at several points. It probably makes sense to you that bolted-in cages are not as rigid, especially if they do not contact much of the car body. However, the FC RX-7 does not have a rigidity problem, so I'm not sure how much difference it would make if you are just driving on public roads. If you don't want to embark on a major roll cage project, then simple front and rear strut bars should be fine.

If you plan on racing, make sure you get a copy of the racing class rules so that you don't spend a lot of time and money installing a roll cage that will require even more time and money to replace with one that is legal for your racing class.

Its just a cusco cage with padding, its kind of the go to for all japanese makes, you can find them used pretty often.

Also, pay attention to sunroof/non sunroof before purchasing.

Not sure if the Jegs kit is still around, but it was the one I used back when.

Thank you guys for suggestion. Big reason I feel like I really need the rollcage is because I don't want to bent the car chassis while racing or drifting. I want to get the car as strong as possible so I dont have to worry about the chassis too much. I wonder if half rollcage (5 points ) is strong enough because if it strong enough to prevent chassis to bent I would just go for 5 points roll cage. About the hinge-type, I plan to weld it in the chassis instead of bolts ( Not sure if that work) . Cusco rollcage look really nice but I read some thread and people said it thin and really weak. I plan to keep the car for many many years LOL so I want to build something that is strong. Mine is GTU so there will be sunroof, but I dont think I will care about the sunroof that much.

Have a custom 4 point roll cage made and have through the floor subframe connectors installed. That way you can safely drive the car without a helmet. Any bars around the drivers head in a street car is not a good idea on the street.

If you don't want to do that, get an AutoPower 4 point cage and have the subframe connectors fabbed and installed.
