FC Power
I have a N/A 91 FC but im going to change the engine cause i kinda have to. i know i can rebuild my 13B and all but i want to know what a 20B is and is it possible to use that in my FC.. i know a 20b is a 3 rotor engine and can have high hp. is it to much to use a 20B in my FC or can i use it? also after the engine i want to know what else i can do to raise its hp. like adding a turbo, intake and filter etc. anything, but i dont want to kill the mpg way to much. i dont want to go around getting 5mpg ya know.. my uncle made that mistake with his firebird and he gets 6mpg..

u can search for all of this info ....
ill say this an avarage 20B swap, will cost you probably 8 grand or so..... and will require a standalone fuel system....
adding a turbo is pretty hard on a 91 NA it has rather high compression and very careful tuning is required..... and if u have to ask you dont know how to do this....
some decent performance mods, would be a full exhaust system that means with a header! , and a real cold air intake. if you do have to get a rebuild or somthing, you should get a mild street port too..

Depends on how much money you have to spend.
Given a budget, and if you listed what car you currently have, we can probably throw together a decent list to get more power and fit into your budget.

If you decide to drop in a 20B, you can forget about trying to keep the gas mileage.
I have read that putting it together would cost about $10,000 or more. Check the 20B Section.
If you have $3,000 to use with your N/A, I'd suggest getting it rebuilt.

well it seems as though your just screwed from the get go....no if you have a n/a and put a turbo engine in..you would have to follow your whole drivetrain with a turbo tranny, driveshaft, and halfshafts....

All of your questions have been covered 1,000,000,000 times before. So, that's a good thing, because you will have days of research and reading ahead of you, so that you will be able to determine for yourself the best approach to take.

starting with an automatic, $3k, make it as fast as possible?
remove 13b, stock trans, throw in trash.
insert 302, 302 auto.

For about $3,000, all you can do is get the motor (J-Spec) and the rest of the Turbo II drivetrain.

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
I just have to laugh at the idea that he wants a 20B but in the same paragraph he only has $3K and doesn't want the gas mileage to go down.
Not too many 20Bs that even get any better than 11-13 MPG.

umm...if you have $3k..sell your car and use that with the $3k to buy a TII...alot less work and you can get a decent TII for that price.
OR...buy a tII with mods and a blown motor for $1000 or so...and have the motor rebuilt for with the $2k or so you have left.
