fc N/A VERY smokey when trying to start

Basically my GF recently bought an FC. It ran OK but not for very long. Always smelt of fuel and was difficult to start.

Well now it wont start at all. Ive done some serious deflooding on it. Ive managed to get it to run extremely roughly for about 10 seconds but then it just dies again. Will do this once or twice before requiring deflooding again.

When it was running for 10 seconds, it filled my shed full of smoke!

From the colour of the smoke Im guessing its water seals? i.e its knackered?

Opinions/advice for best way to fix?

Cheers!

It's hard to say.

Does the car fail the bubble test? Does the smoke smell sweet?

A flooded engine will make all kinds of white/grey/blue smoke when it first starts.

If the car makes good compression and doesn't eat coolant, then look at the injectors as a source of the problem. They can and have stuck open before. It happens occasionally especially after a car has been sitting for a while.

Or, it's just terribly flooded. A push start generally fixes that and it will run very rough until the engine cleans itself out.
