Question Did starting fluid killed my motor?

Okay i have a weird one for you guys here we go,i have a HBP motor(fresh rebuild) with all the goodies and it was running perfect, one morning i went to start the motor and it did not start,i swapped the plugs for a new set,did a comp test(it came back 125psi on both rotors)give it try again and no go.Checked the plugs and they were dry,no fuel at all so i decided to spray a little starting fluid and give it a try,Cranked one more time and it started right up running in starting fluid,(my friend kept spraying starting fluid at the t-body inlet and the motor ran like for 30 seconds)so i shut her off and proceded to figure out why i wasnt getting any fuel, after a while a find out that my fuel pump relay wasnt working and that the microtech was not firing the injectors at all,I got a new relay play with my cranking maps a little and gave her another try and she started right up but running just in the front rotor,i cranked one more time and the motor turned really fast so i did a comp test and i got 125 front 25psi rear(what the hell happened the first comp test came back 125 both rotors)so i decide to take the motor apart and figure out what happened and for my surprise all my side seals in the rear rotor were completly jammed in their grooves and the rear rotor touched the center and rear plate,Okay so what happen?if the motor was running fine and didnt want to start because was getting no fuel and it passed a comp test and the only thing done to it was running it with starting fluid before it lost comp do you guys think that the starting fluid killed the motor?ANY IDEAS

no. I have the same kind of setup and used starting fluid before. Sounds like the something from the build maybe.

I use starting fluid at times but use it judiciously. If you just spray for one or two seconds into the air filter, then try to start the engine, imho you should have no problem. BUT if you continuously spray it to keep the engine running, I think it could be deadly.

You can see why if you get your lawnmower out. Start it up and spray starter fluid in the intake while reving it. You'll can't miss the KNOCK sound as you keep spraying. I mean that sucker will rattle to no end. You don't want your rotary to do that.

maybe that is what happened here HAILERS,for the 30 seconds that the engine ran i kept the gas almost to the floor to keep it alive so maybe it detonaded until it die,the funny thing is that i shut her of,the motor didnt stop running by itself,so i waited fix the fuel problem went to start her up and she was running just in the front rotor, just waiting on some side seals to get her running again.
