FC insurance

im 17, and im in NJ, this is possibly the worst combination for purcahsing any kind of insurance on a car... how bad are say, 89-91 FC's (all variations) with insurance companies?

yah, because it's an older car, I found that my insurance for the rx7 n/a was actually cheaper than that of my 1996 mazda protege. News to me but it made it a whole lot easier to convince my parents that my idea wasn't so bad. I have a speeding ticket of going 80 in a 55, and my insurance would be actually be like 800 bucks a year. Not too bad if you ask me. I'm also 19 so that may be a factor. Other than that, it's a pretty decent car to insure.

Just so happens i'm in NJ and i'm also 17. The insurance is dirt cheap for some reason. Only like $100 more per year than my brothers 89' Corolla. Thats only basic insurance, not collision included, but with the cost of the car being so cheap in the first place, its not worth it to get collision. This is of course with my parents like PERFECT driving records to go under though. BTW - I own an 89' TII.

I used to pay $375 a month when I was 17 on an '87 n/a, but that was because I had a bad record. Now I'm 20 and it's about $700 for 6 months on my '88 TII.

I'm 16, just got my '91 N/A RX-7 Sunday. I think the quote if I put it in my step-dad's name is around $130 a month with liability.

I'm almost 20, and I pay 1020.00 CND. for a comprehensive insurance package. The king **** of insurance policies.
I can't complain! I love Gouvernment Insurance for it's rates... but try to get them to actually pay out.. it is an entirely different ball game!

1,200 every 6 months. I'm 18, 100% spotless driving record, in fact I took defensive driving without even getting sent my a cop.
Reason?
Turbo II. Insurance hates turbo

All you younger drivers must bite the bullet like we all older drivers have.
There is no way around getting a cheap insurance especially on a sports car and even more so on a TURBO sports car.
And...I don't want to hear any dumbass say "why should I pay insurance on a car worth only $1000.???"
Because, a $1000. car can do just as much damage as a $100,000 car. And your parents won't get sued out of their asses when that happens.

Just keep the record clean and speeding tickets off.
I pay $800 a year full coverage with State Farm for my TII. No, I'm not that old yet. Staying with an insurance company for a long time helps and having multi car coverage helps. If you're under 23, single and single car coverage, bust out the Vaseline baby and bend over.

No, you're not getting screwed. You don't have a driving record yet. Christ , you're only 16 and driving for what.....about 1 year? I remember when I was 16 and my first car was a Dodge sedan and I paid about $1000 a year for that beat up junker. The best bet is have multi car coverage with your parents and under your household. Your premiums will be much lower than going on your own. If you don't care about having full coverage, get liability instead. As you get older, the premiums become lower but only if your record is somewhat clean.

Please

hey guys i can't believe the rates some of you are getting. They are awesome. i just removed insurance from my car and now i can't drive it because the company decided to change my insurance on me. its now $557 a month. Please i am dying to drive my car its outside staring at me, can anyone please provide me with an insurance company that won't require me to pay with both arms and legs. i am 20 years old living in Mississauga, ontario, canada and i own a 1988 Mazda RX-7 GXL. the only violation i got was that my sticker on my plate wasn't put on and that was on my dads van. Thank you in advance to any rx-7 brother or sister who spends time to helps me out. I NEED MY CAR :_(

DAMB!!!

Some of you guys have outrageous insurance rates...

Im 17, just started driving my RX7 last month. I have taken drivers training.

My insurance is State Farm, it is lowered by these things:

Drivers training
Average in high school being above 65%
Parents are with them
I live at home

Anyways, for FULL coverage with 1000000$ coverage it costs me 275$ / month... which isint to bad.

But a cool thing is, for ANY vehicle I wanna insure and ONLY get liability on.. it will be 180$ / month.

State farm is the BEST for young drivers!

91 TII with USAA and a $500 deduct. I have full coverage on her and it is listed as a pleasure car.

Pay about 630 a year on it.

I am 24 with one ticket on my record. Living in on the border of mexico in TX. Bad combo for the SUV though
