FC General tool box

I'm trying to comprise a list of the tools needed to do work on the FC. I want to know what wrenches, sockets, special tools and substitutes, travel needed tools, home only tools, etc and etc. So post away, doing it to get a good FC tool box checklist going.

Please, read the posts and if you see something you feel should be added then please add it.

Obviously the most useful ones are a 3/8" ratchet and 10, 12, and 14mm sockets and the same sized wrenches. That is for just about any job you want to do lol!

Well if you plan on breaking down motors you will need the flywheel socket and big *** breaker bar. Dont use a 1/2" drive rachet, it'll break, I know...

i would suggest a portable soldering iron and some spare wire in case something comes loose, gets ripped off on accident or if you need to resolder something.

I don't know if you would consider spare fuses as tools or not, but that is good too.

Other tools would be phillips head screwdrivers for just about anyhting you would need to do inside the car's interior.

I'm sure I'll think of some other ones later on.

8, 10, 12, 14, 17 mm are all standard, I don't lick messing around with 3/8, I only use 1/2 or 1/4 ratchet.
then you have you 2 1/8" 3/4" socket and a long bracker bar, 3 foot long pry bar to hold the flywheel in position....

thats all that I can think of off the top of my head

The whole snap-on catalog.....plus a garage. JK. Impact gun, jack stands, compression tester(life or death of rotary engine determiner), volt meter, wire strippers, wire crimpers, I have found that the cresent wrench comes in handy every once in a great while.

So far a 23MM and a 20 or 19MM(can't remember which one) plus regular 5-15MM has been all I need for sockets.

Wrench as well.
PB Blaster(A MUST for exhaust work)
Drill for the Bolts the PB Blaster didn't get out.

The MOST Handy tool I have is my old Mountain Bike aluminum handle bar. It's hollow and Very strong and about 2 1/2 3 feet long. Light weight but strong enough to slide over your sockets/wrenches and use as a breaker bar.

can I get a ahmen to air tools. Even those electric impact guns kick ***. When my air hose took a crap and I was 1/2 into my axle swap on an old oldmobile, the electric stepped to the plate and motivated those 23 year old control arm and shock bolts.
