I have never seen an FC with speakers in the doors. I mean, I have seen pictures of it, but I have never seen it in person. Every FC I have ever seen has dash speakers instead.

Anyway, if you have dash speakers they are 4", if you have these 'door speakers' i have heard so much about they are apparently 6 1/2" and the rear speakers in the shock towers are 6 1/2" also.

6.5's in the doors, 6.5's in the rear towers, and 4" under the dash.

well on the verts, you can fit 6 1/4" - 6 3/4" in the doors, there are some 4 inch 'subwoofer' things in plastic boxes behind the seats, one slot for a dash speaker under the glovebox, and two headrest speakers in each headrest. but i kinda limited it down to 2 6 1/2" in the doors, i kept the subwoofer things and just hooked them up as midranges, work quite well actually, and a 12 in the trunk. sounds great, and i cant remember correctly that only the S4's had the REALLY UGLY door speakers that looked like a hole in your door.

Stock speaker size for the rear towers if you have door woofers (S5) is 4" but with adapter plates you can fit 6.5"

Door speaker is 6.5"

Dash is 4" and thats all that will fit.

I've never bought an S5 with a a working front speaker crossover. I've had to bypass every single one of them on the cars I've bought.

On my 88 TII AE I have 4" in the dash and 4 or 4.5" in the towers..I ended up dremeling the dash and making custom mounts (err Karack did :P) and putting 5.25" in the dash. I made custom mounts to put 6.5" in the towers. I tried making them fit on the stock mounts, but it didn't work.

My S4 '88 Vert has the door speakers right above the arm rests, headrest speakers, and under dash speakers. No speakers behind the seats though. The ones over the armrest have a decent looking stock cover on them. Looks like they are only around 4 inches in size though.

im pretty sure the inch size has to do with the distance between like three bolt holes in the speaker mounting bracket, i used to know, its been too many years since ive talked about it.
