Are you talking about the turbo manifold? The FC manifold will bolt up to the FD block and vice-versa, but they are definitely not the same. From the turbo back they are completely different.

Seems like a lot of custom welding work for not as much gain as an aftermarket manifold.

You'd need to take the motor and the manifold to a fabricator so he could get the right angle on the flange with the turbo to not hit the lower intake manifold. Thats assuming he can actually weld a flange to the exhaust manifold material. I would suggest you run something made for your car. Should save you some cash if thats what you're worried about.

Aftermarket or stock?

The bolt pattern is the same but the stock FD manifold is totally different then the FC manifold. The turbo will not bolt up, and the twins only barely fit in the FC engine bay.

Some aftermarket manifolds will fit if they are far enough from the engine.

The FD lower intake is closer to the engine then the FC lower, so often the FD manifolds will hit the intake.
