FC/FD alternator hybrid

i happen to have the guts form an Fd alternator laying aorund in storage. does anyone know if it's possible to take those guts and put them in the FC housing and have a working higher output alternator? or could i do it by mixing and matching parts?

Good question. I'm willing to bet it'd not work right if the armature even matched up at all. Best bet I think would to be getting it rewound, or just buying a complete FD alt.

the FD alternator case is a bit bigger so you probblay can't fit them into the FC case.

yes, actually the FD alternator has a higher output, basically its a better alternator, the FC pulley just needs to be drilled out to fit the FD shaft...
