Dave, I know you don't want to do the copy thing, but something "inspired" by this Mazdaspeed nose would be cool for everyone - it's very agressive, but not flashy, and wouldn't disturb the flowing lines of the FC.

What do ya'll think?

Brandon

I agree. I don't want something that is alrady made, since you can go buy that if you want it enough. I would like to see new things, but if they are inspired by other designs, then so be it. my point was that I didn't want a "FEED" kit under our name Keep the info and drawings comming!

No that was for a person that asked for the link.

As for a company to build the kits - maybe you could try a company called Fibremotive they are based in Sydney.

For you guys in the US it may not be such a bad idea to import from australia. Our dollar is very poor at the moment ($1 buys 50US cents) and It would cost you guys about $1-$1.5K for a full kit. If you imported ten kits then the shipping cost would be minimal and you would have a great kit for cheap.

just a suggestion.

Anyway - check it out.

Well, I sent them an email so we will see what kind of reply we get back. I know that someone out there will see the drive and desire that we as a group posses, and they will be the ones to profit from the quantity of sales that we will provide Who says that since our cars are 10+ years old that we don't want cool stuff! Hell our cars smoke most if not all the rice that is comming off the Honduh production lines as we speak!

I'll keep you guys posted if I hear any replies.

Guys,
I just read through this whole post and I'm interested to see what you will come up with. I noticed how you all are looking for pictures. I don't have my good drawing progs. on this computer but I threw something together real quick. Now you have to look at this abstractly, like take a few steps away from your computer and try to visualize. I always though this would be a tight kit. It pulls everything to the front. The *** is pulled in and it sweeps to the front where it has a spooning lip. I think it could actually serve some kind of arodynamic purpose. Remember this is only a quick crap drawing. What do you think about this?

Freeway cool idea but what about speed bumps?? ANYthing but track time would destroy your kit.

Also I trashed my ideas, I saw a couple of them in web pages for production already

so?

ok, i spent sn hour reading all those posts about this project, and am still wondering if the guy who started the thread is going to give us some real info. on the progress of this. i don't mean to be negative, but are you bullshitin? B/c you have got alot of people excited. anyway, i agree that the headlights mounted flush w/the hood with lexan or some kind of plexiglass would be our best choice. But the front bumper needs to be original, not bits and pieces derived from other kits to make one kit. I mean sure, get inspiration from the others, but be original. I am no artist, but i will damn sure try to draw/sketch something original, and i suggest anyone with ANY artistic abilities do the same. So sorry about shooting anyones ideas down, wans't my intention. good luck!

oh, does anyone know a good source for a used blower? Preferably a Paxton nt2000 or similar?

thanks,
Patrick Riley

This just reminded me of way back in the day when I suggested that posts were slowing and the body kit might not get done. I got flamed like hell from a couple people, but in my defense, I was basically right about what was going on. While I'm thinking about it, though, thank you to EVERYONE who is trying to get ideas for kits and approach new companies to get this done. :1party:

I might be able to help.

I have been offering bodykits and making performance parts for the 3rd Gen for years and I think I will be able to help on your bodykit project. My buddy runs a fiberglass bodykit factory and he makes all bodykits that I sell. My main concentration was on 3rd Gen RX-7 but now I would like to make some stuff for the 2nd Gen people as well. Coming out with a new line of bodykit is very hard but converting an exsiting bodykit to other car model is much easier. It's done by a lot of manufacturers. The very good example will be knock off Veilside bodykits. It has been converted to many cars. My bodykit friend has done some of those too. If you are looking for a C West style, Abflug style, Mazdaspeed GTC style, Veilside Style bodykit for the 2nd Gen, it can be done, as long as there is enough demand for it. Widebody is harder but can be done as well. I hope I can work with David from FC3S.org. If you guys can give me a chance I will be able to help. You can also go to my website for reference on what kind of stuff I am selling. My body kit friend's factory is in LA. David, if you are willing to meet me at my friend's place, I can discuss the possibilities with you and also show you the quality of his work. I am in SF so you need to give me a date for me to drive down.

Chuck

It's just when you go and say something like this...that someone like rotaryextreme pops up and makes you look like the bad guy again. So go have your party, but we are still going to get some bodykits made!
