FC Body Kits/ Body Parts

man, now that I've seen a couple of these kits and what these cars look like i may start saving up for an rx7 myself. I mean, I like my ga but there just isnt enough kits to make it original. But I've seen the beauty of the rx7 and it is nice. You guys have great looking cars, and a great website. I think I'll be posting here frequently . And like my friend rice said, aed has been holding out on promises. They keep saying we'll get something a certain date and then when the date comes nothing happens. Some people take up for them, because they feel sorry for them. I kinda felt bad at one point, but now I dont. Seeing how they treated you guys, the way they handle business sucks. But they only way my 97 ga will get a kit is by me getting cardboard i guess :p

I feel i should let you all in on a little bit of info about AED. The Grand Am community, although not big, are having kits made from AED for our cars. They finally had a kit done last year, turned out great, it was a huge hit. But while they were working on the kit, they practically promised us pictures of clear tails for Grand Ams by that October. They missed that date, then they promised another date somewhere in september, missed that one as well. Needless to say, we are still waiting. Also, the hood they make for Grand Ams, they were having some trouble with those. People had pre paid in like June for them, they are just ifnally shipping them out, after telling these people they were being shipped way back in last year. Now i am sure this post won't hold any water with you guys since you are all so exited about getting one made. i am just letting you know what happened with us, and the extremely poor customer service they have.

Wow, this thread stayed around for awhile
I agree with what the other GA owners said. I have talked with Leonard in depth on it and I jsut basicly couldn't continue with being told that they were being made, yada, yada, yada and then have nothing to show. That isn't my style. So I proposed it to a few other places (larger companies) and the response was slim to none and the replies I did get said that there wan't enough of a market for them here. They are popular in Japan because the TII is nearly as popular as Civic's are here.
So the final verdict on these kits is:
Unless someone does a limited run of a bumper or similar, there aren't going to be any new body kits made in the near future. I just can't spend the time anymore continuing to badger people to do one when they aren't for them.
So, your options are to get a knock off from Corksport, get a really nice one from Mariah (which I am doing on the Project 86) or pay up and get a Japanese kit.

Replacement Parts
Simple, but always needed... Power Mirror set along the lines of the T2 type. The mirrors are the first to go in any minor scrape and hard to come by.

How bout something along the lines of being a 1 piece front end (i.e. carbon fiber) . The whole front end bumper, fenders, everything but the headlights stay so when you want to pop the hood the whole front pops up, only the headlights stay. Maybe 2 holes on the hood for the cotter pins, something with a very aggressive lip and vented sides on the bumper would look sweet!!

Well, if you sift through the 430+ posts you get a pretty good idea of the types of body kit parts that people are interested. The biggest problem is that there isn't enough agreement to make everyone happy. I think a moderate kit would work nice. Something not too stock looking, but still not too aggressive that it looks ricey.
I would be totally willing to help in whatever way needed to get a kit out for the community, but I just hit too many walls on the first 20 attempts. And yes, all of the major body kit makers were contacted and asked to take a look at this post, and see what they thought of the responses here in the interest in getting a body kit.
A single piece front end isn't a great idea. No one would buy it other than drag racers, and that isn't the purpose of this. This is supposed to be a body kit that can be used on the track and the street.
So anyway Agent_D, let me know what your thoughts on it are, either on here of email me at dave@fc3s.org or admin@fc3s.org

You may all need to Know this
First off "Leonard" has never promised "Dave" anything. Dave took it upon himself to tell the community over here that AED was going to build one. They talked about it that was it!!! And DAVE you were told in December that AED was too busy to do this kit. And we would not think about doing it untill our current projects were completed.... Scape goat... I Think not....More like enjoying the attention if ya ask me.. And as for the two GRAND Am people.... Yeah right we have come through on everything we said we were going to do... And until you have a better idea about what your talking about,,,, Keep your traps shut about my company...."Rice Hata" Funny enough.. All of you don't have any clue as to this company that you are so quick to slander...... You guys wanna be pissed at someone be pissed at Dave for jumping the gun promising you the world when he knew nothing was certain.... Period... We do not and will not ever plan on building a kit for these cars.... Leonard was approached by Dave via a mutual friend........they don't even know each other. So why don't you all go whine about somebody else.

Banned. I got OWNED!!!
That last front end is excellent. What's the price going to be on that thing? I am very interested.
As for Susana, well, that's some great publicity you just got yourself there bitch. Excellent way to get your company recognized, is to come into someone's automotive forum with 13k+ members and start bitching people out. Dave is a respected member of the community adn I dont think anybody here is going to get pissed at him for any reason. OF couse, that shows what kind of business sense this bitch has even more by making all this stuff for grand am's and not interested in anyting for rx-7s, or anythng else it sounds like.

Well if you guys want to be pissed at me, go ahead. But I think we all know who we should be mad at. I was the one who was upfront and told everything in a public forum, not AED. Not like I was hiding it since Leonard knew where this forum was since he was emailed 2-3 times where it was.
I don't have time for this nonsense. Buy Chuck's body kit pieces. They look really nice and he came through unlike AED, and unlike AED Chuck's business is respected in the rotary community, where AED isn't even respected in their own.

It's funny how things work out. I was planning on buying the Corksport front end this month. The design isn't that great, but it's the only thing out there I like. I just happend to check this thread out Monday .
Dave: Thanks for all the hard work. I know how stubborn big companies can be.
Chuck: Kick *** design. Expect my order once your group buys are finished.
Stupid lady: Please use periods and such in your ramblings. It's hard to read your whining when you have one sentence that's a paragraph long.

The combo lights are only signal lights and city lights. They do not serve the function as the headlight so you will have to use the stock headlight. The bumper fits with stock headlight.
