See my new thread on Lost compression, cleaning out the carbon...
I'm trying a product from Mac right now, but a mechanic recommended AMSOIL power foam?
Anybody heard of this stuff and care to comment?
Where can I get some?

TKO 2000 (I think that's its name).
The only fuel cleaner strong enough to melt your pintle caps if you don't mix it with more than 20L of fuel, and the only cleaner that dissolves the gum and varnish created by Shell fuel on Chryslers.

In response to the Amsoil power foam.
When I bought my '89 TII for $1000 it wasn't running.
Diagnosis, no compression carbon lock.
Procedure, spray in Amsoil power foam, crank over engine by hand a few times, let sit(hour to overnight time frame), attempt to start....repeat as necessary.
Took me about 3-4 days as the compression slowly built back up and I got the engine started.
Highly recommend the power foam as it is some slippery s*%t and lubricates as well as breaking up the carbon deposits.
Side note...i.e. things I would do different,
If you do get it started this way be gentle on engine for break in period of time or so (I didn't and am now breaking in engine after rebuild caused by apex seal roll out)
It seems to work really well but with the engine that far gone to begin with I wouldn't expext a long life if you do get her going.

As for where to get it check out amsoil web site and see if there are any distributors near you. Van's auto parts carries it here in Austin, TX

I'm goin with rxmfn7 on this one. Lucas products are some of the best on the market. Don't go by a fancy package or sales slogan. You won't find that with Lucas. But they're products work. In fact, I just ran out the last of my tank full with the injector cleaner in my truck today. They also make transmission treatments, engine oil additives, PS additives, and rear end additives. It's all good.

Opinions are like........
Additives? who needs additives. Most quality fluids work well enough without additives in sump use.
FI cleaner-- Any name brand or boutique FI cleaner with every oil change is good. BG44k every 50k miles is good too!
For fuel injector cleaners, I rotate around the Redline/Amsoil/Techron/Seafoam/Lucas.......with my oil changes. BG44k is too expensive to use every 2k miles.
Lucas causes aeration in oil, rearends, transmissions.... Don't use it if you want oil and not air as a lubricant. Air doesn't lubricate gears, bearings..... all that well!
Do I notice a difference? No hot or cold flooding ever, strong running engine, never misses a beat, always starts within a second of starter engagement, 12 years and 100k miles on original injectors and engine.........
