Remember, the speedo may be largely inaccurate up high. Unless you've had a GPS or clocked mile markers, your speed may be wildly wrong.

That said, I've been clocked at 106. By a cop. In a 55. I had it up around 115-120, but my aux ports weren't working, so I was running out of power.

I buried the speedo at 260km/h = 160mph... probably inaccurate. My car started on fire afterwards though.

 

i need to tires before i try any high speed but it come up damn fast and pulls hard in 4never gone past that...

I'd been in the 13x's in my old 87 Sport readng the stock speedo. In the S5 GTU I have yet to try anything that high, only a third gear run for wideband logging.

 

145 in my old 87 TII... over on 237 by Great America from Milpitas to Santa Clara.

 

I've gone 138 in my car. It creeps once in 5th... could have gone a little faster but it would have taken forever.

 

I went 55 in my 88 GTU once now thats flying. I thought I was gonna fly off the raod.

N. Californian's might know the Highway 37 "blood alley" road. My CHP buddies Sunday morn, early, clocked me at 138. 1990 FC3C, top down, speedo said 145, almost redline in 4th. 5th is great downhill with a breeze.

And no ticket, I'm buddies with quiet a few of the local law enforcement "gents". Good to have friends in low places.

ive been at 165 (maxed). The bike behind me said he was doing a buck 70, but people lie, and so do speedometers.

My guess from just reading that our speedometers read a bit fast at higher speeds was that i did 160......fast enough to scare the **** outta me and the guy riding shotgun.

 

I was on I-95 in Georgia coming back to Florida and ran 120 mph for about 30 miles right! behind a trucker who was really trying to make up some time..... figured the cops would get him, not me, 18 wheeler a little easier to see than a little 88 GXL.... lol

 

I've hit 122 without my aux ports working.
Haven't tried a top speed WITH them yet.

Besides I just got two tickets within 3 months....so I'm taking it easy!!

Ive done between 115 and 120, gets pretty scary then.

 

Jeez, you people need to find safer places to do these top speed runs....

But anyway, on an airport runway I've burried the needle, big fat turbos help
