Fast Reacting IAT Sensor

The fast reacting IAT sensors you get for the FD's, can these be used on FC's?

Or, is there there another sensor we can use?

Are you just talking about the OEM FD sensor? No, it doesn't have the same resistance curve as the fc sensor. And its not terribly fast acting in my experience.

yes they can and yes they are fast reacting. Dudemanownsarx7 sells them on his site. Diyautotune sells them also.

No, I'm referring to the after market ones you can get for the FD's.

I've searched and searched but can't seem to find anything relating to a fast reacting IAT for the FC!

Silverfdturbo6port...have you run an FD IAT in an FC?

Do they have the same resistance curve?

I swapped an FD uim onto my fc and had to change the thermistor tables in my megasquirt for it to read correctly. They're not the same.

So is there a fast reacting IAT that can be used in the FC?

It might be possible to change the thermistor tables in the microtech...will look into this.

I would imagine there is considering you can run microtech on FCs and FDs...

if you do find out where to change the temp sensor resistance curves, the FD's IAT sensor is the same as the FC and FD CLT sensor

Considering the stock FC iat is open element I don't think the response time would be too slow.

Just an Observation,But I think the reason for the Fast reacting AIT sensor swap on an FD is because of the Heatsoak problem.
The FC doesn't have that problem as the Ait is in the Elbow, not the manifold..

Really you could change it if the "resistance curve" was the same.
They usually come with a pigtail connector that you would have to put on the harness though,as the connector is like a Injector type dealio.

So does any know what the reaction speed of the FC AIT is compared to the FD AIT?

"I would imagine there is considering you can run microtech on FCs and FDs..."

When I purchased the Microtech I remember them asking what type of TPS I was using, I don't remember them asking anything about the AIT or the type of engine e.g. FC, FD etc. Maybe microtech makes the assumption that it's all FC stuff im running based on the fact im using an FC TPS.
