Thumbs down fast idle start up

ive had my 7 for 2 months when i first had it, it always started from cold and reved to 3000rpm, but now it doesnt do that any more it only goes to about 1200rpm. does this mean somethings wrong? im going to look at the temp sensor and things like that, but im abit in the dark so any information would be a great help. thanks

you are probably starting with the shifter in a gear and holding the clutch.

If you start with the tranny in neutral as well as holding the clutch, it should start and rev to around 3000 initially.

Also, if the temperature is below 59*F, the 3k RPM startup is bypassed. Check this graph for more:

edit: it's bypassed if the temp is above 98.6*F too
