Fallowup Stuck in Miami Afriad to drive
ok First off i made it home
But here's how i did it....
Every ....50-60 Miles i had to Pull over to a 711 or some place.
and get a Samwich bag of Ice... and put one on the lead Coil and one on the trailling..
This WORKD well to the point to where i could get here...
that being said.
do the Coil packs have some kinda lame Fail safe for heat?
What would Cause them to heat up to that Point.
and i think thats the Oddest thing ive Done so far with that RX
LEmme know please

Where is the original thread?
Are you running the stock ECU?
If so, there's no reason why the coils are overheating unless you're grounding them wrong or they are arcing badly.

The Walbro is pumping too much fuel into your engine.
More accurately, the Walbro 255lph is pushing so much fuel that your fuel pressure is higher than stock spec.
With the higher fuel rail pressures, the fuel injectors are shooting too much fuel into the engine.
Do you monitor your gas mileage?
I bet your car is eating gas like crazy.
10mpg?
I'd recommend to put back a stock fuel pump.
Good used units are easily found in the classifieds section...or just ask anyone if they have one for sale.
Non-turbo FC's are always being parted out, and fuel pumps are really cheap.
All the Walbro units are too "big" for your non-turbo.
Even the smaller 190lph unit is too big.
Getting and aftermarket FPR could fix your problem, but it's an expensive option to go that route?
You can dial down the fuel pressure to stock spec, and it should work okay.
I would still recommend to get a good, used non-turbo FC stock fuel pump - it's easier and cheaper this way.
