fair trade?
fair trade?
ok..i got some thinkin to do..some dude is willing to trade his 88 turbo for my 88 vert..but the catch is his motor has 190k miles on it while mine has 110k..i always wanted a turbo but i dont know if his motor is gonna hold up..what do u think..? should i?
You got spare cash for when that motor pops? Its getting close...
Well, depending on how well it has been maintained, but I'd say pretty well if its made it to 190k... sure its the original engine?

Look at it this way. Sun exposure can cause cancer, turbo exposure increases your national debt. Both cost money to remedy, you decide which is better to spend your money on, parts or medical bills.
if the guy is willing....
1. do a compression test
2.check turbo for shaft play
3. check radiator fluid for contaminents
4.check oil for cleanliness and smell
5.check for proper idle and proper turbo spool
in my opinion, if all of those pass...you got a good trade! (that is if your would pass all of those ((besides the turbo parts)).....cuase he could get ripped off too)....
note....im referring to engine only...im sure your smart enough to check all mechanical parts (i.e headlights, taillights, turn sigs...etc.....)
