I dont get it.
I failed WORSE.
7.78 out of 2.00 allowed Hydro Carbons.
This was with me running a direct hose to the cat from the air pump- running 87- drove it hard to the testing station to warm up the cat- and leaned it out as best I could.
Last time, and the time before that- I got 5.0. Hoooow did this go up soo much!
Im almost positive the cats are all clogged. Will be replacing those tonight and trying again tommorow
.
Would a bad ACV do this? What about clogged egr or????

Yep HC's are normally taken care of by the cat, so if your getting high numbers its probbably a burned out one.. It should definately bring down the numbers...
Don't give up on it, once you get it done then the real fun begins.

Also, be sure to place the car around where the stock one was or close to the motor...you want the gases to be HOT so the catalyst works correctly. I've seen way too many people with custom made exhausts put the cats too far back.

If your mileage is that poor, then there's something wrong...TPS correct? Intake temp sensor? Water temp sensor (at the water pump)? Initial set coupler jumped? O2? Injectors professionally cleaned?
However, if your cats truly are clogged, then that would explain everything.

HOLY CRAP were my cats clogged.
The first pre cat un did- cloged the second one- that broke off and hit the main and clogged it.
New (used) cat and gutted pre cats- going to try and pass tommorow.
Should I do the air pump trick again or what?

youre saying a single cat setup worked? im worried.. acutally i get about 18-20mpg on my car so i shouldnt be too paranoid, except that ive got a wussy lil cat for a pre cat and the exact same one for the main cat. this things not more than 10 inches long. the muffler dude said its a good one, and i trust him alot, he did wonderful things for my honda.
