i need to renew my registration by may 7th, so im kinda tight on time. tried to smog my vehicle, and passed the emissions part, but none of my idiot light works. mainly inorder to pass the test, i need the "check engine" light functional. well, none of them works. brought it to my mechanic and said the whole cluster needs to be replaced. i found on mazdatrix that theres a cluster surround replacement, but i cant find a replacement for the cluster itself.
hmmm the only thing i can think of is go to a junk yard and find a new cluster OR look in the "for sale" section of the forums you might get lucky and find one for a cheap price, i'm going to need a gauge cluster too as soon as my engine is finished.
Go to http://www.mazdamark.com/ everything you need and it will work right.

Wow, that sucks. I wonder what happened to his site? Anyway, PM Icemark and ask him if he is still repairing idiot light clusters. If you are good and soldering you can do it yourself, but I wouldn't recommend to amateur solderers.
I think I'd get a meter out and check the cluster plug to see if it's got power going to it before I threw money at it. It might not even be plugged in.
The Black/Yellow wire should be getting power from the METER fuse if the key is ON or better.
If the key is to ON or better, you can remove the small plug from the alternator and put a ground on the WHITE/BLACK wire. When you do that the idiot lights should all come on. There's only two wires there so it's hard to mess that up.
