Fade to black. stupid warning lights...
well,
i know its a common problem for wires and solder joints to be f-ed up causing the warning lights to not function... my fuel light has just lately started working and it fades in and out. yup just like someone put a dimmer switch on it. wtf? im guessing this could be tied into my shitty grounding and crummy alternator.

As far as i know it's supposed to work like that? Mine does it too. I think it just depends on where the gas is distributed at the time in the tank(only when low on gas though).
If it lights up fully while the key is "on" and the engine not running, then you'll know the light itself is ok.

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
The low fuel light will start coming on around 2.3-3 gallons left in the tank. It will fade in and out (depending on cornering/bumps/etc) until the gas level is so low that it is always on.
So it sounds like yours is working fine if it is doing that and that you are just bagging on your car.
