A/F Guage question.

Ok, so i got the guage wired (auto meter a/f guage) and it works, the question I have is at idel it sits in the last 4 yellow and every now and then it will light up the first green (rich) light. The the motor will shake and it will go back to the 4 yellow light. When im driving if I barley hit the gas nothing shows, but when i give it 55+% on the gas it reads on the middle 3 yellow lights, unless im driving with my lights on then it hops around and goes into the red. Is this normal?

The way I have it hooked up is its grounded thur the access panel and the power wire I spliced into another wire that turns off and on with the key that the prev. owner ran for a ash tray radar dector. Maybe I need a new power source?

It sounds like you have unshielded wire or the shielding has worn off/wire has been damage that connects to the o2 sensor. I would check that first. Then the ground, then finally the power source.
