Expert Help Needed-- AFM

I bought a 88TII about 900 miles away from where I live, my shipping fell through and I want to go out and make the car run. Seller says it has a jdm T2 motor, which series I do not know yet; and all it needs is an intercooler and the AFM piping. If this is true, and thats all it will take to get it running to get it home, will an 87 NA AFM work? I also have an APEXi SAF-CII, so I was considering going out there, bringing my intercooler (which is a front mount), my entire stock intake and AFM with the SAFC and trying to get it to run. Problem is, if it doesnt work I'll be stuck in New Jersey with no car, no way home, and to way to get the car home.

Experts, I ask you if it is possible.

The N/A AFM will probably work in a pinch, but dont expect it to run correctly and I would caution against boosting.

If you're not in that much of a hurry, I'd just try to get a new shipping company or something. I mean, you're counting on alot of "if's".

Yes, an NA afm will let the car start and run with no issues.

IF that is the only problem.

When people try to sell things and say "it only needs XXX, which is a simple fix, my loss is your gain, you can make a lot of money on this, blah blah", I turn right around and tell them that if it were so simple and cheap, they would have already done it themselves to avoid the financial loss. IT usually shuts them up very quick, because they already know what I will eventually find out...there are other problems being masked.

Hell, one time I went to look at a car with a VERY small engine fire...like, 2 wires. Very odd, no apparent cause for it. I decided not to buy it. Later, someone else did, and it wound up here for work. Come to find out, it had a bad engine. I believe the seller burned a couple of wires with a lighter as an excuse, so that he could say it needed a couple of wires repaired and it would run good, when in reality it needed an engine. He had to have an excuse why it wouldnt start and run, so the burned wires were that excuse.
