Cool Expert Advice

Ok, my 1988 RX7 is using about 1 quart of oil ever 100 miles..
I fixed the only oil leak I had..I replaced the O rings under the filter
No smoke
No other leaks
No burning oil smell
I found the OMP and I moved the arm rod that links to throttle..it moved fine...what else should I do to it?..please help cuz I need to go on a rode trip soon, and I don't wanna take it to the dealer if I don't have to.

You sure that was the only leak? IF you don't have any external oil leaks... it may be internal . I know your not seeing any burning oil or smoke.. but that's all i can think of right now.

oh, BTW, it's mother-****** spelled ADVICE!

Hmm, you don't get ANY smoke at all? Thats a crazy amount to be burning. How are you so sure that your not leaking any? Sometimes you don't get leaks unless the engine is running.

I don't see a way in the world that your car does not smoke AND you don't have an external oil leak. If you were burning the oil it would smoke like a ****. You must have a leak somewhere that your not finding, only thing I can think of.

I told him in his OM to me that the no smoke , no leak thing was no possible.

Check your coolant for oil.
Check for oil leaks at high RPM. (may only leak under pressure)

Its leaving somewhere, FAST.

look for the little radiator thingy in front of the big radiator.
its what the big hole in the front of the bumper blows on.

follow those lines.

I'm going to tell you the same thing I told you the first two times you posted this thead. You are burning it. If there are no leaks, the you must be burning it, smoke or not. Period. It can't go anywhere else except the coolant, and that is VERY unlikely. Your problem will not be solved unless you LISTEN to what people are telling you.

The only other thing I can tell you is to look under the car where the engine and transmission mate up. I unknowingly ever-so-slightly tore a new rear main oil seal on my TII putting it in. I lost 1.5 qts of oil in about 125 miles. The underside of my car from the engine back was covered in oil.

Its only like a $6 part, but you have to drop the trans to do it. I had the trans out twice in the same week

No..

You dont have to drain the radiator to do a "leakdown test"

Is there oil in your coolant?
(3rd time asking)

if you dont know that these terms are, then search the internet using whatever search egine you like for the terms.

you will get info much more quicky.

I checked the coolant yesterday, and this is what I found...
coolant reserve..I saw some black looking ballsfloating around, but when I opened the ragiator cap I didn't see anything floating on top..it looked clean, however when I opened the other radiator cap by the engine...I noticed that the rubber seal was worn and broken, and that's where I think those little ***** came from in the reserve....make sense

drain it all into a bucket (you have to remove the underpan first) and look in the bucket.

Go online to FC3S.org and download the Factory Service Manual. It will have all the terms and procedures we tell you to use.
